Occasionally Thee DocKtor is asked, Does the Targus dock support PXE Boot? or - What docks support WOL?" Enterprise features like those shown below are often important for deployment and in some platform update and maintenance topologies. Assuming these features are also supported by the host platform, the following table shows a summarizes the most popular features by Targus dock models.

Targus Universal Docking Stations (USB Type-C & Type-A SuperSpeed)
Targus Universal Docking Stations, models DOCK1XX or ACP71/77, DO NOT support PXE boot in the tradition sense because there is no pre-OS boot support of the USB DisplayLink MAC in most platform BIOS. There are some exceptions, but these are few and far between. There also additonal options to PXE boot with these docks. The GbE features supported on the DOCK1XX and ACP7X docks include:- WOL (Wake on Magic Packet)
- MAC Address Modification i.e. Cloning, Spoofing*
- Priority and VLAN Tagging
- VLAN Support
- Speed and Duplex
Targus USB Type-C Thunderbolt Docking Stations
Targus Thunderbolt Docking Station, model DOCK220, utilizes the Intel i210-AT GbE Ethernet Conroller required for Intel Thunderbolt certification on Windows PC and Apple MacBooks. Many platforms support PXE boot, WOL, etc. from the DOCK210 Ethernet port. Other popular supported features include:- PXE Boot

Targus USB Type-C DP Alternate Mode Docking Stations
Targus models DOCK410. DOCK411, and DOCK421 utilize the Realtek RTL8153 Integrated 10/100/1000M Ethernet Controller for USB. Many platforms support PXE boot, WOL, etc. from these dock's Ethernet port. Other popular supported features include:- PXE Boot
