Unveiling Future-Focused Targus Innovations at CES 2021
Targus kicked off 2021 stronger and more connected than ever by showcasing its latest technological innovations at the world’s largest technology tradeshow, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) last week. CES 2021, the first-of-its-kind virtual show in CES’s 50 + year history, delivered a virtually immersive experience revealing the industry’s best consumer breakthroughs and technologies. In true Targus fashion, future-focused product engineering and innovative design was center stage at CES 2021.

As a direct response to previously unforeseen global challenges, the latest generation of Targus design revealed adaptive technology like the new UV-C LED Disinfection Light, 2Office Antimicrobial Backpack, as well as antimicrobial tablet cases and mice to name a few. Cutting-edge design in Targus’ three new focus areas - working healthy, working sustainably, and working from anywhere garnered recognition as a CES® 2021 Innovation Awards Honoree for the UV-C LED Disinfection Light. Its motion-activated automation technology uses ultraviolet light to reduce pathogens and break down the DNA of microorganisms all while stationed fashionably above desktop devices like keyboards, mice or cell phones.
The antimicrobial solutions were a favorite of industry enthusiasts and generated media mentions including TechRepublic, Engadget, WIRED, Daily Mail, The Verge, USA Today, CBS News, Wall Street Journal, and Digital Trends: “Mobility giant Targus is announcing products that actively protect against bacteria growth too. Of note: The 2Office Antimicrobial Backpack, a laptop case that features an antimicrobial coating on key touchpoints to protect against bacteria growth on contact.”

While visitors stopped by our virtual booth or scheduled meetings with our helpful Targus team members, social media followers were given a taste of what to expect in the new year. Our exclusive #CES2021 playlist was activated on YouTube where we teased future launches in our Work Reimagined, Antimicrobial Solutions, Eco Solutions, On the Move, and The Future of Work videos.
