Google Chrome OS Support for Targus UDS

Thee DocKtor is pleased to announce that all of Targus Universal Docking Stations (UDS) work on Google's Chrome OS Release 51 and onwards. Chrome OS is the first Operating System to offer native support for multi-screen productivity with Targus UDS. Docking connectivity in business and education couldn't be easier. Targus UDS can be deployed for Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, Android, and now Chrome OS devices enabling hot-desking and hoteling in schools and businesses. "Plug it in and it just works" just reached a whole new level of simplicity. Release 51 is now available from Google on the Chrome OS beta channel. Information on how to switch to the beta channel to try Targus UDS on Chrome OS is available. This provides full support for video, audio, and Ethernet on Targus UDS and video adapters.

Supported Devices: The following Chromebooks are supported with Targus UDS from R51:

Dell Chromebook 13
ACP71/77 Power Tip H

HP Chromebook 11 G4*
ACP71/77 Power Tip H2*

Toshiba Chromebook 2
ACP71/77 Power Tip I

Acer Chromebook C740*
ACP71/77 Power Tip L

*Validated by Thee DocKtor Targus is extending support all Chromebooks through future Chrome OS releases.

Performance In Thee DocKtor's testing so far: Video performance was not as good as it is with higher processing powered devices including Windows PCs. ( e.g. 4K rendering on the listed devices). It is assumed this will change as Chromebooks become more powerful, but certainly, it's acceptable for most applications.
