Targus has no record of bricking a MacBook or any other host device.
But, we cannot verify that other USB-C dock suppliers have the same quality solutions as Targus.
Therefore, we recommend that MacBooks are immediately updated to macOS™ Big Sur 11.2.2 as recommended here.
