Targus Display Configuration Utility version 2.01.033 for Windows was released last week for use with all Targus DisplayLink based Universal Docking Stations models:
Targus has released to production the DOCK180 USB 3.1 Generation 1 Universal Docking Station (UDS) with USB Type-C Power Delivery shown here. A mouthful I know but the point is that the DOCK180 uses the USB protocol for the video over a USB Type-C connector.
Targus has released a set of USB Type-C Display Port Alternate Mode Adapters compatible with Thunderbolt 3 ports. All three provide video to an external monitor when connected to either USB Type-C Thunderbolt or DisplayPort Alternate Mode host ports.
Targus has released the ACA44 adaptor (a tip of sorts) for connecting the Targus "3-Pin" DC power cable implementations of Targus UDS with a USB Type-C Host.
It is very important to use only the Targus model of Power Supply Unit (PSU) that came with the associated Targus Universal Docking Station (UDS) model.
Microsoft has addressed this issue in the Windows 10 Creators Update but not in previous versions of Windows 10. If you are experiencing the issue and do not plan to upgrade to the Creators Update, please contact Microsoft for a resolution.
